Story
My daughter has been offered a place at one of the top universities, however due to its location, which is in central London, the cost of living there is very expensive. Realistically the student loans don't quite cover all the costs factored in.
Unfortunately though I am unable to support her as I am currently unable to work due to mental health problems (early stage of dementia). We have been living below the poverty line for some time now. We already rely on food banks and often go without basic things. I am trying to help her anyway I can, while I can.
I am super proud of my daughter who is a straight A student with 100% attendance and impeccable behaviour, she is ambitious and has worked so hard to try and better herself and situation. She is very passionate about human rights, helping others and standing up for minorities and people who can't help their situations. Even though she is struggling herself with the cost of living, she still puts others first.
Despite coming from a disadvantaged background she has worked hard to get where she is. It breaks my heart to know that I cannot help her financially and as we live in the north east and the university is in London we cannot afford to travel back and forth to see each other.
I have no doubt that after university she will go on to work somewhere that helps make a difference to people's lives. She needs financial help to get there first though. Any help will be greatly appreciated and used wisely
