Weʼve raised £519 to Help Fatuma Recover from Buffalo injuries

Funded on Saturday, 2nd April 2022

    Story

Fatuma is a young mother of 4 living in a small village in Mwatate, Kenya. We have been experiencing a drought which is pushing wildlife into villages in search of water as water pans dry out.

Last week, early morning as she walked her 4 year old to school she was attacked by a buffalo. The buffalo gored her through her thigh which has raptured her bladder.

She was rushed to the closest hospital, Moi County Hospital in Voi where they carried out basic treatment.

Due to the nature of her injuries, she requires specialist treatment which she can receive in Nairobi, Kenya.

Sadly she couldn't be discharged for further treatment as she didn't clear her previous bill.

We got an anonymous donor who cleared the amount and arranged an ambulance to take her to Nairobi's Kenyatta Hospital. Where she can get emergency treatment.

Her treatment is ongoing and we need funds to cover her treatment.

The funds will be used for:

To pay bills at Kenyatta Hospital.

To support her 4 children with food rations as their mum undergoes treatment.

For purchase of medication for post operation treatment.

on 21st Jan, we visited Fatuma at her home town in Bura, Mwatate to see how she was doing. She was going for a routine dressing change at the local government hospital. Which she did and returned back home. She's happy to be home and settling in slowly although its going to take time to heal. Fatuma passed on her regards to all of her supporters who have seen her heal and prayed for her recovery. We will keep following up her progress and wish her the very best. A massive thank you to everyone for your support and generosity. This afternoon we managed to clear out her bills and she's on her way home to her beloved family that she so very much misses. She passed on her message of gratitude to you all, which I will post as soon as we have electricity. She was very excited to go back home and her follow up clinics will be in Voi which is closer to her home in Mwatate. Once again, from me Fatuma and her family, thank you very much.
