I was a patient in ferndene childerens hostpital or a period of time as i suffered with a mental illness however I was one of the lucky ones and wasnt in there for very long and is currently making a good recovery but I didn't just want to leave and forget about it all as I met some amazing people while i was there! But like I say I wasn't in long where as some of the patients had been in there for as long as 7 month and that is a long time away from home as your family cannot stay there with you. It was amazing meeting people who had gone through tough times also and wasn't ashamed of anything it was also upsetting hearing what they had been through as I have had a really good upbringing where as some people in there haven't but they were all beautiful strong people, I've been home for a few weeks now and as I'm moving on I know some of them people are still there and will be for a very long time so I would like to raise some money to give to my ward (red burn) to show I haven't forgot about them and that I admire all of their strength also the staff were amazing they try their hardest to make you feel at home and safe even though it's has got very strict safety rules so I would like this money so they can purchase what ever they like to make the patients feel safe and at home I would be very thankful and I'm sure they would be too! Also mental health isn't spoke about enough and is very serious as it can kill so I want everyone to know they are not alone and there is always someone to talk to! Also everyone be nice to people as you don't know what they are or have been going through!
