    Story

Asher is a bright ten-year-old Ugandan boy who despite missing lots of school due to illness comes top of his class. He recently won a regional schools' spelling competition but missed the national finals, again due to being seriously ill. He contracted a necrotizing infection whilst in one of Kampala's main hospitals, and for the last four or five years has been seriously ill with recurring bouts of this infection which is gradually eating away his flesh. To date the operations and treatment he has required run into tens of thousands of pounds. The antibiotics he needs daily cost 13,000 UGX. His mother, a teacher, earns 100,000 UGX a month and for a few months recently has not been paid at all.. Friends and supporters in the UK are trying their best to help, but this illness is defeating us all. We are looking for help in funding the antibiotics to keep the infection under control and in keeping Asher well.
