I am raising money for my 82 year old Grandad. He has been deteriorating for a little while now, but very slowly, as you would expect, but throughout August, this escalated very quickly. He has now become unable to remember to take his daily medication, he is unable to cook himself food, he struggles to dress himself and is often is a state of "I don't know what I'm doing" whilst trying to undertake a simple everyday task.

My mum is now caring for him everyday. He has been to the Doctors who believe he has the onset of Dementia but it has happened very quickly he is currently undergoing other tests.

He is now very weak and struggles to stand and walk, the main issue is getting up the stairs, in general, but more importantly, to get to the bathroom, he isn't able to make it. He is also very at risk of falling down the stairs as he's finding it so difficult.

We are hoping to raise funds to convert his garage into a bedroom and wet room to make this easier for him, he doesn't want to have to leave the property where he & his late wife spent years together, and gets very upset about the prospect of living in a care home.

We as a family don't have the funds between us to cover it but we want to make him as comfortable and as happy as we can, it's what he deserves.
