URGENT APPEAL. PLEASE HELP.

Hurricane Irma left so much of southern Florida battered. My good friend Aileen and her family didn't have a chance to get any of their belongings or take safety measures to protect their home as they were away when the unforeseen hurricane left so much of Florida decimated. Their home is flooded and their car is wrecked. They are currently staying in the home which may contain very dangerous mold and have just heard that their landlord is going to tear down their home leaving them with no where to stay. They also have a new born baby who is so adorable. Please help. Anything would be appreciated. The money will help them towards having a roof over their heads as they are imminently facing homelessness.

Please help my beautiful friend Aileen, her sister Sharon and the rest of her family. Aileen was so kind to me when I moved to Florida. She made me feel welcome and has such a big heart. She has picked me up and taken me to Miami twice purely out of kindness (despite it being hours away!). She's supported me in really dark times.

Aileen and her family have gone through so much and are so strong. Her parents escaped the Guatemalan genocide and have fought so hard to achieve the American dream. While I was at college in Florida her dad was deported back to Guatemala suddenly and wrongfully. Given he is so active in the community, they got behind him to write letters to the judge in order to get him back to the US. Aileen and Sharon's mom just obtained US citizenship and is so proud of it. Despite this they all work minimum wage jobs, have a baby less than a year old and are left without sufficient transport to get to their jobs (anyone who knows Florida, knows you need a car, there is no public transport like in the UK).

I want to make it clear that I proposed putting up this page to help Aileen and her family, but being extremely polite and having a strong work ethic, Aileen said not to. I know if any of us were in this situation we may not ask for help but would also be relieved if we got some. It won't replace their lost items but it may help them to get back on their feet.

Should Aileen not accept any donations I will make sure to find someone in a similar situation affected by Hurricane Irma to donate the money to.

Thank you for reading and once again, please help my friends.
