Story

Thank you for visiting this page, which was set up to support Jose Kamau with his medical costs. Anyone who knows Jose will know that although he never had much, he was always willing to help other people.

Jose fell sick in June this year and was subsequently diagnosed with Cushing's Syndrom - an imbalance of the hormone cortisol - which among other symptoms resulted in diabetes, fractures to his ribs and spine due to bone loss, and loss of mobility. He was admitted to hospital on 25th September and despite ongoing investigations doctors were unable to establish the cause of his disease.

Jose's condition continued to deteriorate and we are sad to say that he passed away in the early hours of 9th November. We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to all of those who stepped up to support Jose - we know it meant a lot to both him and his family.

We are waiting to clear the final bill from Kenyatta National Hospital so that his body can be released, but we expect that this will be more or less covered by the donations received to date. We will leave this page open for the coming week, should anyone wish to support his family with funeral expenses.
