Story
Hello my name is Zivile and I'm trying to raise some money to support my mum with the cost of my father's funeral.
My dad has always been a kind, loving and compassionate man who has given up everything he had for his family. My mum and dad have moved to England to ensure that we get the best life we possibly could, leaving everything behind and coming to a foreign country without knowing the language, having any friends or getting any support or certainty from anyone.
Last Christmas was not a holiday we will remember as a joyful one. We spent 16 hours in A&E, we were informed our dad had an aggressive glioblastoma, a size of a tennis ball, in his brain and had months to live.
We went through a 7-hour surgery, radio therapy and an extremely aggressive chemo therapy treatment. With every round of chemo, dad was deteriorating, a bit of him was lost everytime but the treatment was working and the tumour was shrinking. We finally got some hope that he might stay with us a little longer.
However, the most unfortunate thing has happened; he had a seizure while walking down the stairs and plummeted head down on the floor, which left him unable to move, speak or communicate, he was bed-bound and unable to do anything but blink.
My mum was devastated and in shock, seeing the love of her life slowly fade away.
Dad was admitted to hospital with respiratory pneumonia, his lungs gave up shortly after and he passed away.
It was a tough moment for all of us and especially mum who could not imagine her life without him.
For the whole 9 months, we lived on my mum's salary, she worked 55 hours a week of physical hard work to provide for the family as I was in college and my brother was looking after dad full time.
We are in a financial muddle and I'm trying my best to raise some funds to help my mum out, we have no relatives or friends so I hope some kind people might help us out.
Thank you for reading and understansing, Any little helps xx
