I've raised £6200 to allow me to fulfill my dream of teaching primary school children in rural Chile from July 2019 to June 2020.

I am Alex Walker a sixth year student, currently studying my Highers at South Queensferry High School.
As a young girl my father took me to India, and the universal joy and compassion I witnessed in the face of adversity, really left a significant mark on me.
When I faced my own challenge of full blown Alopecia a few years ago, my memory of the positivity I had seen, helped me remain strong and pulled me through.
When my hair returned, I made a vow to make my whole life a positive and decided to try to help others in some way.
In May of this year I made application for a one year self funded teaching post, in the hope I may be invited to the selection process the following month.
I was invited and following a stretching but enjoyable week of tests and challenges, I was delighted to receive an offer to teach a group of primary school children in a rural part of Chile from summer 2019 to summer 2020.
This is where I am seeking your help.
In order to make a difference to 30 children I need to raise £6,200.
I appreciate that may seem a large amount of money, but this will cover my training, travel, food and accommodation for the whole year.
I have numerous fundraising activities planned over the next year and i will be be regularly updating my progress via twitter and Facebook.
If you want to know how my dream is progressing, pop in and even consider dropping me a line!
I know that everyone is regularly asked to make donations to good causes, and acknowledge that everybody has their own friends and family to support, however could you spare a little ?
Each small donation will allow me to take a small positive step towards my goal.
Thank you in advance for reading and considering helping me.
