Story

My name is Gez Baker and I'm running the Loch Ness Marathon in September 2018 with the BRJ Runners from Huntingdon Cambridgeshire. I've been a keen runner for 18 Months. I started running the local park runs and then decided to enter a few half marathons, which I completed in good times.

I've set myself a challenge to run the Loch Ness Marathon on the 23rd September.

The reason why I have decided to challenge myself and run the marathon to raise funds to help a close friends son Harry. He has recently been diagnosed with Rod cone dystrophy.

A cone dystrophy is an inherited ocular disorder characterized by the loss of conecells, the photoreceptors responsible for both central and color vision.

Though there is no treatment or cure for Cone dystrophy, certain supplements may help in delaying the progression of the disease.

I am trying to raise money so we can get Harry some items that he needs for daily life.

A braille Keyboard.

Braille Books.

Audio Books.

Magnify glass, and magnifer glass for the computer.

Led Lights for the house so Harry can see better at different times of the day.

Walking cane and Spare rollerball tips.

All these Items will help Harry in his daily life, and hopefully make his life a little easier while he comes to terms with his loss of vision at such a young age.
