Story
Streets Ahead for Information (SAFI) is a residents’ information, help and advice centre at 109-111, Parliament Road (Tel 01642 803451). Established over fifteen years ago it helps more than 4000 residents every year. It is a not-for-profit constituted voluntary organisation. All its running costs come from donations, the second-hand shop and any external funds we can find.
We need help from individuals, organisations and groups to help us keep going.
What does Streets Ahead do?
Its only job is to support our local Gresham community and help its residents. Streets Ahead provides a host of valuable local services for residents and for local businesses, aimed at improving our community and environment and making residents lives better. Its is the areas one-stop-shop for local residents.
These are some of the areas where we help:
Employment, Education, Supporting vulnerable residents,
Organising local events
Running the local second hand shop
Crime prevention, Community care and activities,
Environmental protection, Advice on services.
Streets Ahead is a key player in local, regional and national partnerships that support our community. We support, run or take part in virtually every community activity in Gresham. Including Gresham in Bloom, the Back-Alley Projects, the Gresham Gala, Beat surgeries, Community Spaces, and much more.
We depend on our volunteer helpers to keep running. Without their invaluable help we would not be able to operate.
