I've raised £1800 to rebuild a home for a family devastated by the Nepal earthquake of 2015

In May I will be undertaking a three day trek to the village of Thangpalkot1 to see the work that has been done and to meet the family of Palden and Dolma Sherpa seen in the picture. Thangpalkot1 is an isolated village north east of Kathmandu in Nepal. I am spending four days in the village and will see the significant difference that the Campbell Foundation has already made and also see the work that has yet to taken.
The home of Palden and Dolma, together with the rest of the village, was destroyed in the earthquake that devasted the area in 2015. Since then they have been living in a temporary shelter which has very restricted facilities and limited protection in the harsh conditions.
Nepal is a very special place for me, from my first introduction by posting some much loved walking boots to a family in 2015, to voluntary work and trekking in 2016. This will be my second visit and a chance to work as a volunteer on a seperate conservation project and to support the village. When I decided to travel during my retirement, I was challenged to answer the question "why". My response is to try, in some small way, to make a difference, to give something back.
My aim is to raise the funds to enable Palden and Dolma to have their own home again. Through the work of the Campbell Foundation, the village is slowly being rebuilt, by the villagers themselves, one home at a time. All of your donations will be used to purchase the materials to do that and transport them over difficult terrain to the village. Please give generously.
