Story
My friend and neighbour, Najla, mother to 3 children aged 4, 8 and 11 is dying of cancer. She was rushed into hospital in June when they discovered she was already suffering the advanced stages of cancer. She has been battling ever since but is now enduring end of life care in hospitaI. Her husband, Khaled, returned home last night, 13th November, to rest and ready himself for her last days and found that their home has been robbed. The house has been completely ransacked. Savings and donations collected towards making memories for the children and the funeral have been taken. All of his wife's jewellery, willed to her 8 year old daughter, has been stolen. Every room has been invaded and turned upside down. Instead of resting, Khaled spent the night sat on a sofa in the living room, unable to sleep, not allowed to touch anything for forensics purposes. Many people have offered financial support with the funeral, cleaning and replacement costs, so I've set this page up to enable them to do so.

5 years agoThank you everyone for your kindness and generosity. The majority of the funds have now been released by Just Giving and have been transferred to Khaled. I'll be shutting the page down in 7 days. We have all been very humbled by the love shown by you all. The monies will go a long way to replacing everything that was stolen. We can't replace a wife or a mother but we have given hope and comfort in the darkest moments, demonstrating that they are not alone and that humanity exists. Thank you and bless you all. X

6 years agoHi. It is with great sadness that I can confirm that my friend Najla, passed away today at 12pm. She is now at peace and no longer in pain. Her jewellery has not been returned. Please, please, please continue to share their story. Someone involved may have a heart and might do the right thing by her little children. Khaled is going to need all of the love, support and strength from our community of Bristol. Please keep sharing and spreading the word. We just need the jewellery back for her 8 year old daughter.

6 years agoHi, thank you to everyone who has donated. It has brought much solace to the family and has given Khaled a light - so that he can still believe in humanity and teach his children that there are good people in this world. The jewellery has not been returned, so we must continue to spread the message - whoever stole it can still return it - they can still leave it near the house, or pretend that it has been found and hand it into a Police Station. They can still do the right thing. Just return the jewellery to the family. Do the right thing.
