Following intense headaches, some memory loss and light sensitivity in Katie’s eye, a very quick referral from the gp to hospital, lots of investigation's later and Katie was diagnosed with a 5cm brain tumour at the end of January, a grade 4 brain tumour 💔. A devastating diagnosis at 40 years young and as a mother to four beautiful children.

Katie had brain surgery 11th Feb and is due to commence radiotherapy and chemotherapy. While these treatments help, they do not give Katie the best chance. Despite some advancements in research for the treatment of brain tumours, the NHS has not advanced their approach. Imunotherapy options are awaiting NICE approval, sadly this can take years and we need these treatments asap, time is of the essence.

So a large group of us are coming together to walk ‘The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge’, within 24 hours on Easter weekend - so we can raise urgent funds to provide immunotherapy treatments privately.
