Story

Lorena arrived in the UK five years ago with her sister Mariana and their respective husbands. She has worked for us and several families in the area as a cleaner. She is a kind, positive, courageous and incredibly hardworking person.

Earlier this year, both Lorena and Mariana became pregnant. They were very happy to be pregnant at the same time and at the prospect of being first time mums together.

Very sadly, less than two weeks after Mariana's baby was born, after a very difficult birth and an intense start, Mariana suffered a post-partum psychosis episode and unexpectedly jumped out of the window of her flat. She died instantly, leaving a tiny baby and a devastated family behind her.

Lorena is now about to give birth, and on top of the immense shock and grief to overcome, she needs to help look after her sister's tiny baby.

We have donated a lot of baby items to Lorena (thanks to the generosity of many mums around SW6) but we would like to help a bit further. Providing them with some money will help Lorena, her husband and her brother in law navigate the next few months as they go from 4 salaries to 1 (after the tragedy her brother in law hasn't yet gone back to his work as a motorbike taxi).

Please donate if you are able to.
