I've raised £4000 to help fund the purchase of an educational robot for Makayla who has ME

We are raising money to help Makayla to buy an educational robot to help her in her final year at school and if she follows on to college. My name is Darren Sims (aka Daz / Daz's Rock 4 Charity) I am a professional musician and also fundraiser and have raised over £630,000 for different causes and charities over the years. Here are some words from Makayla's mum Michelle to tell you more about Makayla and her condition and how important the robot is >>
Makayla was 8 when diagnosed with ME she will be 16 in Sept she can only manage 3 hrs of schooling a day which isn’t great when she’s doing exams next year.
Makayla struggles to be in school for 9am as she doesn’t sleep at night so we use the robot who sits on the desk at school and she is able to fully participate in the lesson from home . Makayla also has a heart condition and when she stands up her heart rate spikes and she becomes dizzy and passes out! So having the robot also helps with that. Robbie has helped her not just educationally but with her confidence too as she used to sing, do speech comps and dance but had to give it up because her illness. Robbie has allowed her to access education and she’s not behind. Just the last few weeks of term she really wasn’t able to attend so so for this time we really did rely on it. To hire him for her last year at school it’s £2,186 but we are looking to buy Robbie together with the technical support.
Thank you all so much we are extremely touched. We have been lucky as the school have supported us but due to the increase in the cost of the robot and the lack of funding the government are giving schools, the school is looking into where the money can come from but this would be fantastic as it would help the school out so much as well as Makayla meaning the funding they do have could be used for other provisions within the school.
