MAMBA MEWS !! Mamba needs your help to get specialist surgery - please can you help him?
Thanks to the power of Social Media with back up from the local cat loving https://www.bishopsstortfordindependent.co.uk/ So many of you have taken Mamba into your hearts and we thank you all for all the public support and private messages offering help. Mamba managed to drag himself home Friday 14th January in sub zero conditions with a smashed pelvis and having been laid up in pain somewhere alone in the freezing cold for 4+ days and nights until he could muster some magic to get himself home - I'll never know how/where as the driver that hit him didn't stop to help him.
Mamba is currently in the pet hospital https://www.mercerandhughes.co.uk/ in Saffron Walden on Methodone (apologies again to them for waking them up at 2am!!) waiting for a specialist orthopaedic surgeon to take him on. As a result, the bill is going to be much more than your average vet bill, but we believe Mamba deserves the chance as he was otherwise fit, healthy and only 2 years old. As my cat loving neighbour said "If a specialist can fix him then he deserves that chance, we wouldn't euthanize a human would we, cats are no less important and I'd donate xx" Several of you have offered donations - I know it's January, but 'every little helps' as they say'! He is insured - but not for specialist treatment to this level. The donations will go directly to the specialist bill if we can all reach the target - and, if we smash the eyewatering bill, then to this animal charity to help them help others who are victims of hit n run animal RTA's https://www.catsmatter.org/ who campaigned to get the law changed in December 2021 for cats to be microchipped and continue the cause in 2022 for drivers to have to report accidents and fatalities. Many deaths are preventable if the accident is reported at the time, enabling the animal to get urgent life saving treatment.
Thank you for reading & for any support and awareness you can offer to Mamba & other animals in RTA's. Together we can make a difference. Love - Mamba xx
