This fundraiser is for Marem, an art student and refugee in Syria, who is unable to complete her final year of studies until she receives surgery following an accident.

23-year-old Marem was in a road traffic accident involving her entire immediate family. Their truck was overturned after being hit. Marem, who was sitting in the trailer, was thrown from the vehicle sustaining fractures to her pelvis and shoulder aswell as an accumulation of fluid on her spine.

Marem and her husband, Ahmad, a documentary photographer following the plight of displaced people in Syria, are both dedicated to helping their country recover and rebuild. Together, they will be able to be more effective for others when Marem is healed from her accident.

Marem and Ahmad's fundraiser is supported by their friend Katie in the UK with whom they are in regular contact.
