Story

In 2012 Meriame was diagnosed as having severe scoliosis, 10 years after she began to fall unwell at the age of 12 years old.

Meriame, a kind-hearted sister and much loved daughter, is now 30 years old and is still seeking the specialist treatment that is offered to most people in her condition during their adolescence in the United Kingdom.

Medical care in Morocco, where Meriame lives and was born, is not freely available or evenly distributed. Meriame lives with her family in a small rural village South-East of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, where specialist treatment is currently not available.

Her family have dedicated many years to seeking and funding the surgical treatment needed to relieve Meriame of much physical pain and discomfort, and sadly their many years of effort have been met with expensive consultations, radiography, appointments and closed doors.

It is a financially and emotionally difficult and disheartening situation for a family to sustain alone in Morocco. In order for Meriame to benefit from the medical treatment that she needs, she is required to travel to the city of Marrakech, where a long and challenging treatment plan can be granted, for Meriame to undergo surgery and be cared for during her recovery.

Lhoussaine, Meriame's brother and I have wanted to help Meriame for a very long time, and that is why we are asking for your support, if possible, to welcome Meriame to Marrakech for the specialist care that she not only needs but deserves.

She is the eldest sister of four siblings, who love her and wish for her recovery very much. Meriame has always welcomed me, as Lhoussaine's fiancé into her family home with a loving heart and open arms, and she is one of the kindest and most generous of Women that I have ever met.

I think that we can try our best to afford Meriame the opportunity to have the same freedoms and quality of life that the majority of people have to enjoy in the United Kingdom.

We are extremely priviledged in Wales (UK) in that we have the luxury and the professional help and support that we need, when we need it from our incredible national health service (NHS), and as a Woman only one year older than Meriame myself, I believe that helping her is the right and the best thing to do.

We are incredibly grateful for any donation that any one of you may be able to make and we believe that no amount is too small. Thank you so much for considering donating and for taking your time to look at our page, I know that it will mean more than we can imagine to Meriame and her family.

Thank you from Lhoussaine and Jessica Fadili.
