I've raised £10000 to Help Passy in the Congo complete the building of a new home for the 70 Orphans she cares for and urgently move them to a safer location.

As the UK representative of Fondazione Cariello Corbino (http://fondazionecariellocorbino.org/en/aim-and-goals/gazelles-orphanage/), I am currently raising the urgent funds required to complete the relocation of Passy and her 70 orphans to a new safer home. The building has started and we just need to raise the remaining funds to complete the move, Passy and the orphans currently live in one of the worst areas, in the middle of one of the worlds worst humanitarian crisis. See the link below for info on the crisis; (https://www.aljazeera.com/programmes/insidestory/2018/03/bad-humanitarian-crisis-dr-congo-180324172108520.html)
We need to urgently relocate them to a safer, cleaner home. As a core member of the team and having returned from being with Passy and the children in March 2018, I can ensure and guarantee all money raised will go directly where needed.
My colleagues have kindly offered to support me raise money for this project by taking part in a Thames Charity Challenge on 22nd June 2018. We will start at 10am in Paddington, London and make as much progress down the River Thames in a westerly direction as possible by 8pm, without spending any money on transport. Please donate and support us. After donating please email lee_dsimms@hotmail.com with your email address and predict how many metres we will travel. The supporter closest to the distance covered will receive a selection of donated prizes.
Passy has seen and experienced many atrocious things in her life – things unimaginable to us. Passy sought always to continue her education, and enrolled as a student of Medicine in Goma where she studied for 3 years. But as the situation became worse and worse in her village area, as there were more and more orphans each day as a result of the fighting, Passy decided to abandon her studies and set up an orphanage herself in order to look after and protect these vulnerable children, and to give them some hope for a future. Help us Help Passy and the Children.
