    Story

Late last week we found out from our good friend Rich that Shipstones of Nottingham had suffered a break-in and burglary at its brewery in Basford.

Over £20,000 worth of casks (beer barrels) were stolen, which were vital to fulfil obligations and deliveries to local pubs & bars in the run-up to Christmas. Unfortunately the business insurance that Shipstone's took out will not cover the loss.

We have started this page without asking Rich, and he has had no involvement in setting it up. As friends of Shipstones, and huge fans of the beer and its integral part it has had to play in Nottingham’s history, we want to ask for help in raising enough money to help replace the items the thieves got away with.

The business may have a big brand but it is only a micro brewery with three employees who are all passionate to protect and preserve a part of Nottingham’s brewing history. We appreciate this can be a tight time of year for people in the run-up to Christmas, but any help you can give in the form of a donation or just sharing and telling friends about this page would be greatly appreciated.

Richard would like to thank everyone that helped raise money and purchase new casks that had been stolen last year. It has taken a little longer then hoped but with all your amazing support and generosity we have brand new casks. Picture below is taken the day the casks arrived last week. On behalf of Rupert, Marcus and I, we thank you also.
