Story
Along with some friends, I am raising funds on behalf of a local charity named RAMDA (registered charity no 1101595) working to educate some of the most destitute children in Somalia. Our aim, our job and our duty is to help vulnerable children access education in a country which has had no proper government for over 25 years. For the price of a coffee, you can educate an orphan for one month! We plead for you to find a place in your heart to help and support your fellow human beings in their struggle.
We aim to collect £15,000 to support four schools for orphans in remote areas within Somalia and finance the expansion of the charity. This is to ensure the long-term sustainability of the schools and increase RAMDA's reach in Somalia. The money will be transferred directly to the organisation and I will ensure you are kept abreast of how your donations are spent. We have chosen to build the schools in Borama, Boon and Dhuxun. UK- based volunteers will make visits to Somalia (funded separately from the money raised on GoFundMe) and ensure the projects run smoothly. We are hoping that we raise the funds by the end of September.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “If anyone relieves a Muslim believer from one of the hardships of this worldly life, Allah will relieve him of one of the hardships of the Day of Resurrection... Allah helps His slave as long as he helps his brother.”
We are in contact with the orphans and the money raised will go directly to providing their education via a trusted contact and we will tell you when that takes place and update you on their situation.
Please share this and donate whatever you can to change the lives of these women.
