I've raised £5000 to support Help Tulum Dogs. Providing medical treatment, food and care for maltreated and abandoned animals.

Help Tulum Dogs is a charity that helps to save the lives of abandoned animals in Tulum, Mexico. A small group of volunteers is faced with huge numbers of maltreated and dying dogs, and does what they can with very limited resources. As well as solving the immediate problems and saving the lives of very ill dogs, we also have regular spey and neuter clinics to tackle the problem at source. The last event sterilised over 1000 animals.
To illustrate the work we do, the stories behind the 2 dogs in the pictures have a similar start but very different outcomes. They were both found on the street in a seriously malnourished condition, but were friendly and receptive to being brought back to our dive centre for some food, a bath and some love. Monty, the dog in the first picture made a miraculous recovery and is an affectionate and loyal dog with loads of character, now living with a new family in the US.
Sadly, the other dog had a severe ulcer in his mouth that had been allowed to go untreated and the necrosis had damaged his tongue and soft tissues to the extent that he could not eat. He was euthanised shortly after the picture was taken to prevent any further suffering.
Whilst veterinary care in Mexico is much cheaper than in the UK or US, sterilisation, emergency treatment and drugs to get animals better all cost money. Any donations will go to directly easing the suffering of animals in need. Thank you for the time you have taken to read this, and for any donation you feel able to give.
