Story
Archway and District Carers' Group is held weekly and offers help, support and information to informal Carers (who are caring for disabled family members, partners or friends). We offer a safe space where people share thoughts and ideas, laughter and tears with other Carers in a similar situation. The group is run by a volunteer, who organises speakers, exercise sessions, massage, and occasional teatime outings. We are an inclusive group, meaning that no-one is turned away.
Caring is a 24/7 job, 365 days of the year. For some of our group, this is the only break that they get from their caring role. Several of the group members are themselves disabled.
We are trying to raise funds to help us to "survive" as we receive no funding of any sort. Ongoing costs include paying for the use of the community hall where the group is held; refreshments and some speakers' costs. Please help us to keep going.
