Story

In November I am joining the Freedom Church, Jersey team travelling to Burkina Faso to build three secondary school classes. In 2013 they purchased a piece of land in Bobo Dioulasso committing to a ten year build plan encompassing both educational and medical needs alongside partners in the country. Since then six classrooms have been built for the primary school along with a pharmacy which will provide for the medical needs not only for the local community, but for the 500 children currently in the Compassion programme.

In 2017 the team went out to start the work on three nursery classrooms and the pregnancy care unit, which are now making a huge impact on the community. A well has also been provided for the project to ensure that life giving clean water is now available in the immediate community.

I will be travelling with a group from the Freedom Church in November 2018 to start building three secondary school classrooms and to visit the Compassion project. Each individual who travels to Burkina Faso pays their own travel expenses and I am raising funds towards these by earning money throughout the summer, assisting Charity events such as a Ball being held in October (further details available via www.freedomchurch.je) and also requesting donations via this Just Giving page. Any funds donated beyond my travel costs will be put towards the resources required to complete the project e.g cement and bricks.

Any donations, however big or small, will be greatly appreciated and help to considerably improve the lives of many children in Burkina Faso.
