The day after Henry's first birthday we received the devastating news that our dear little boy had quadriplegic cerebral palsy which affects his muscle tone meaning that he may never be able to stand let alone walk independently, he has poor fine motor skills that mean to hold cutlery or a pen to write requires the greatest of effort and he may never develop the ability to say more than a dozen words.

We made a promise to Henry that we would always find a way to make sure that he has the same opportunities as his twin sister Sophie - no matter what it takes.

Back in January Henry's daddy took him on a toboggan run which he loved and then he started skiing with a local disabled skiing club in March. We have never seen him so happy and have so much to try and say afterwards, it has truly melted our hearts. After helping at each session Henry's daddy is now able to pilot the Sit Ski - which made Henry scream with delight. Last month Henry nearly had to miss skiing due to a shortage of equipment and volunteers at the club.

It was that which encouraged us to find a way to raise the funds so that Henry can have a hobby and be included in family holidays rather than just sit and watch. Sophie is so excited that she will be able to ski with her little brother. It will also help the club by having facilities available so that other disadvantaged people can share in a sport that we take for granted.
