I've raised £4500 to To Fund my charity trip to Kenya and Tanzania in 2018 where I will be supporting local people in crucial, lifesaving projects. Thank you.

In the summer of 2018 I will be going to Kenya and Tanzania on a 4 week charity trip where I'll be a part of a series of beneficial projects in order to improve lives in rural Kenya and Tanzania. These projects will go towards solving some of the most challenging issues facing developing countries across the world and in particular to encourage counter urbanisation.
Over the last decade, millions of people have been forced out of their villages and towns due to issues ranging from drought and crop failure to illness and disease. The sincerity of these problems is compounded because rural Kenya has scarcely any hospitals and certainly no support system for those without food, leaving them with no choice but to flee to the cities in search of a better life.
The sad reality is that a better life is far from what they find. With no money, they're driven into the slums which house 60% of Kenya's capital Nairobi's population, almost one million of which live in Africa's biggest slum Kibera. Here conditions are terrible. In Kibera 80% of people are unemployed, 1/5 of children die before the age of 5 and poverty is high.
The slums cause many problems and reducing their sizes is badly needed. The best way to do this is through the counter urbanisation projects I will be a part of. This entails improving rural areas to provide somewhere to go apart from the slums and to stop people having to resort to slums in the future. Improvements would include constructing water irrigation systems to reduce crop failure, building schools to help children escape poverty and building hospitals.
In order to get out there and make a change I need to raise a total of £4500. I'm aware this is a lot of money which is why I'm not only relying on your generous donations but also some events shown below:
-Concert evening (Jan 17 Raised £800)
-Three Peaks Challenge (Aug 27)
-Curry night (Oct 17)
-Concert evening (Jan 18)
Any donations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
