UPDATE: Charlie is now 90+ days post transplant and still has a very long and hard battle ahead of him. He still must travel from his home in Southend to the hospital in London at least twice a week for treatment. Because of his low immune system he cannot use public transport due to risk of infection as this could be fatal to him. Previously private transport was available to patients in Charlie's condition, however in the wake of recent government cuts transport for BMT (bone morrow transplant) patients has been axed, meaning that Charlie's family are now desperately trying to find money to pay for alternative ways to get Charlie to and from the hospital safely. This is just an added burden to a family that is already going through hell battling this terrible disease.

So I'm asking all you wonderfully generous people to help in the fight and please give anything you can to help #hewilldrumagain!

STORY: My dear friend Shelley received the most devastating news this week that is every parents worst nightmare. Her 15 year old son Charlie, after being unwell for 9 months with no answers, has been diagnosed with 2 types of leukaemia. AML, the rare type and ALL.
Charlie will begin his chemotherapy at the end of this week which will be quite intensive and will have to continue for the next 5-6 months.
Charlie is an amazing young man who is loved by everyone that knows him. He is also a fantastic talent and is an awesome drummer with such passion for it. He has the most amazing and loving family that are supporting him. And his mum Shelley is the strongest woman i know. With tragedy having already struck this family before and more than anyone Shelley, it is so unfair shes having to now go through this. Shelley would do absolutely anything for anyone, she really is one in a million!
Shelley is a nail technician working from home, who has tirelessly invested time and money into building up her own business and generating a loyal clientele but has now had to cease her business until further notice to be with Charlie. And with her younger son and Charlies little brother Teddy at home, Shelley will be regularly traveling to and from London over the coming months.
With a long road ahead and the struggles that face them, I want to raise money to help towards Shelleys loss of earnings and her travel expenses.
So please anything you can donate will be so appreciated. Helping towards this will give Shelley one less thing to worry about which means she can concentrate on her boys and continue being strong for them.
A recent post by Shelley ended with her positive words of... he will drum again! so I will end my plea with the same.
Thank you!
