To help embrace our ideology of truly making a difference to everyone we support, we set up the Shine Fund. The is the Fundraising arm of HICA and every single penny raised goes towards the provision of activities, trips and specialist equipment all designed to make a positive difference to the lives of the people we deliver services to. Over the last year the SHINE Fund has helped fund Virtual Reality equipment for our homes and also a series of Tovertafel 'Magic Tables, an incredible piece of equipment which projects interactive games and experiences onto a table top.

On Saturday 5th October we are holding our annual sponsored walk. This year we are walking from our care home in Hessle - The Hollies - around the Humber Bridge Country Park, across the Humber Bridge, around the Far Ings Nature reserve and back across the Humber Bridge and return to the Hollies where there will be a barbecue. This is a total of 10 miles. For those who wish to participate but don't think they can manage 10 miles there is also a 5 mile route. Everyone is welcome to join us - we are, meeting at The Hollies (Ferriby Road, Hessle) at 9 o'clock for registration for a 9.30/10am set off. All monies raised will go towards the SHINE Fund.
