We know that Christmas can be a hard time of year for some so at Hickton Group we are dedicating time to fundraise for charities that have special meaning to us.

All companies within the group will be working together to raise money for charities that are close to our hearts by virtually cycling from our Head Office in Elsecar to Lapland (Santa's Head Office).

In order to make the 2,065km journey we will have exercise bikes in three of our office locations across the UK, while also being supported by individuals at home, out on the road and in the gym who will be contributing to the distance. Employees will take it in turns to rack up the miles and hopefully get us across land and sea to visit Santa in Lapland (and ask him to grant you all your Christmas wishes!). The event will take place over 3 days starting on Wednesday 14th of December.

Here is how we are breaking down the distance:

+ Our head office to Santa’s head office as the crow flies is 2065km

+ 2065km over 3 days is 688.33km per day

+ 688.33km between the 3 offices is 229.44km per office

+ Taking the 299.44km over our normal 8 hour working day we are looking to average 28km per hour, per office!

The charities we have chosen to support are:

The Rucksack Project - They work to support the homeless in the local Barnsley area (facebook.com/TheRucksackProjectBarnsley)

Eve Merton Dream Trust – They help create a Dream, or grant a Wish, for both patient & families impacted by terminal & serious Cancer conditions (evestrust.co.uk)

Heart Heroes – They work with children and their families living with heart conditions (heartheroes.co.uk)

Please note: The funds raised will be collected by Hickton Group. ALL funds raised will be distributed equally between the three charities.
