I've raised £2000 to provide drama and movement therapy to pupils in schools in London and Manchester who have been left traumatised by recent tragic events

Hidden Treasures provides therapeutic support to children and staff in education.
In our drama and movement therapy sessions we introduce a range of creative play based activities that respond to the needs and abilities of the referred child or young person. We offer individual and group therapy sessions to children and young people to support and enhance their capacity to safely process past experiences and present difficulties. We draw skilfully on the art forms of role play, improvisation, games, stories, movement, puppets, music, art and relaxation to encourage emotional exploration and self-expression, in a non-threatening way. Sessions aim to build resilience and confidence and enable personal growth.
As clinical supervisors we offer sessions to staff working in schools, to support their capacity to reflect creatively on their work, further their understanding of the children and young peoples’ needs and strengthen their own inner resources. We also offer a range of workshops aimed at promoting staff well-being and positive mental health.
This month, The PE Suite is working in association with Hidden Treasures to help raise money to provide drama and movement therapy to pupils in schools in London and Manchester who have been affected by the recent tragic events. On 14th July 2017, adults and children in schools across the UK are being invited to 'Mambo to Make a Difference' by performing a choreographed dance routine to Lou Bega’s party classic ‘Mambo Number 5’. A video featuring primary pupils performing the dance routine has been devised by The PE Suite & Dance Starz and is available online NOW to all participating schools. If your school or organisation would like to join the party, please contact The PE suite for your free online tutorial video. Or you can simply donate. Every pound raised will fund drama and movement therapy sessions in schools where mental health support is most needed. Thank you.
