Our organisation, Highlands rehabilitation, works to take in horses and ponies that have often been diagnosed with behavioural issues, ridden issues and physical injuries deeming them no longer able to work, saving many from being put to sleep, or being passed from one person to another. We work together as a team to re-evaluate the animals conditions, and apply treatments, training, and the love that they need so they can live as happy, healthy horses.

Here we present to you Freddie! He is a 10 year old Warmblood. We acquired Freddie a few years ago from a riding school. It was believed he was a kissing spines horse. He had started bucking in the lessons, and highlands rehabilitation stepped in just before he was put to sleep.

The bucking is completely out of character, as freddie is the most sweet natured, honest and loveable horses we have here. A firm favourite with the team: especially the small ginger one! So, here at Highlands rehabilitation we understand that this "naughty" behaviour is a pain related issue. Over years, we have ruled out the kissing spines diagnosis, and have used a range of rehabilitation techniques in the hope we could get to the bottom of what was causing the bucking, and make Freddie happy and comfortable again. Unfortunately he has not been a straight forward case, and so on the advice of our vet, we are now crowdfunding to pay for a full body scan to get to the bottom of Freddie's pain.

Highlands rehabilitation is not a charity, but a small organisation funded mainly by Anabel bray privately, with the help of volunteers. As a team we have accumulated around 30 permanent residents that are.all at varying stages of rehabilitation, with. Home for life. We are incredibly grateful for any donation towards Freddie's cause, as the whole team want him to be a happy and healthy horse!
