Story

At CURE Ethiopia Children's Hospital, we see many children who are born with dislocated hips. The children require substantial surgery and a long recovery but it does not have to be this way!

If only we could see them as babies.... then we could treat them in a Pavlik harness (see photo above) without the need for surgery.

We want to train every midwife in Ethiopia how to identify these children when they are first born. We need £5400 ($7000) to go towards the salary of a senior midwife. We will train them how to examine infant hips and in turn, they will lead the training initiative for their colleagues.

In time, we hope to treat these children in the first few months of life, thus avoiding surgery and even a lifetime of disability. Thank you so much for any support you can offer!
