Story
I am raising money to buy food parcels for refugees, many of them children, abandoned by the authorities in Europe.
Eviction of the Calais Jungle began last monday. Refugees were kicked out their homes Monday before last. Many were sent by coach to new camps, many were split from their friends, and many have simply been turfed out onto the street. Large sections of the jungle burnt down on that Wednesday, and the camp has now been completely bulldozed. People who risked their lives to escape war are now being put through further misery and humiliation. It's pretty cheesy, but imagine being them for a second, getting on a bus, cold, not knowing where you're going, not knowing where your friends are going, not knowing when you'll next get food, unable to get answers from any police pushing you through the queues.
Typical governmental disorganisation and apathy have lead to many in new camps without food, and no support for those on the street.
The money I raise will be sent directly to Calais Refugee Solidarity Bristol. They will use it to deliver food packages to the most vulnerable refugees.
Any donation means a lot and will go a long way.
Thanks.
