Story

HO-mies are a team of colleagues taking part in Rough Runner 2017 on Saturday 16th September in Clapham Common, London.

They are running for a charity most people never hear of until any parent’s nightmare comes true. Brainbow are a charity who care for children with Brain tumours. This is a charity really close to Abi’s heart when her 4 year old God daughter was diagnosed with a Brain Tumour on the 2nd September last year. They are a phenomenal charity who really care for their patients both during and after their care. They organised not only Princess visits, Santa Clause visits, Christmas presents but also a family trip to Disney Land Paris as part of her after care after the ordeal she went through. Brainbow is a multi-disciplinary team which includes Physiotherapists, a Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Clinical Psychologists. The team is supported by a Project Co-ordinator and Clinical Lead.

Brainbow’s aim is to help children with brain tumours reach their full potential. They provide co-ordinated specialist neurorehabilitation assessment and treatment for children and young people with brain tumours. Brainbow is able to provide children with specialist rehabilitation support and continuity of care throughout their journey i.e. from their diagnosis, during their hospital admission and beyond (outpatient appointments).

Brainbow is non funded and really depend on donations so together we would really love to raise lots of money for them and give back to them for everything they have done to help.
