Story
My wife Holly dedicated her life to working with children with autism and to bring Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) into a mainstream setting. ABA creates a positive and fun environment by using rewards to teach functional living and communication skills to individuals with autism.
Holly had been suffering from anxiety and depression and on July 9th 2018 decided to end her life. There are lots of unanswered questions that we will never be granted answers to regarding how Holly was feeling, but what is certain is she never lost her passion for her work and goal of ensuring every person should have the right to receive an education that empowers them.
Holly believed every child should receive an education that empowers them to achieve, no matter their disability. Holly inspired others with passion, positivity and what others called her 'magic wand', working at the heart of any team she was in to bring out the best in everyone.
Over the course of the next 12 months we will be doing various fundraisers and events to help achieve our goals to provide an ABA scholarship to a child living with autism.
As a result of this I want to carry on Holly's legacy by starting an annual scholarship, "The Holly Scholarship" to work to fulfil her goal of bringing ABA into the mainstream.
