Hi, I’m a children‘s Nursing student and as part of our course we can choose to partake in an elective to an international country in order to develop our skills and understanding of healthcare in less economically developed countries. I have chosen to do my elective placement in Tanzania, an East African country, where endemics such as paediatric HIV are very prominent.

From doing this I will have the opportunity to help children and their families who are victims of this, while still learning myself. This is something I am greatly passionate about as being able to provide support and healthcare to those who need it most is something I wish to be able to do effectively. However, the trip isnt funded by my course and since tuition fees have now come into effect this year for nursing, money is an issue. Therefore, I am trying to raise enough money so i can partake in this incredible opportunity; the money will be for the trip itself as well as vaccinations.
