Story

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 17 which I really struggled to get my head around as I loved sweets and chocolate. I am now 32 years old and still struggle everyday with my diabetes it's been very hard coping with injections and being I'll all the time.
I am recently doing my veterinary nursing qualification and I work full time at a veterinary practice. I have had so many health problems which has made life very difficult for me!
The reason why I have started this is because I am 32 years old and I have the best friend a cockerpoo dog called George he comes everywhere with me. I have researched about training ur dog to become my alert dog which would help me out as I have a lot of hypos through the night once George is fully trained he would alert me of the hypo before it takes place which would mean I wouldn't be in a sweaty state wen I eventually wake up from one!! And have to come round eat change my bed sheets shower all through the night before a full days work where I need to be alert!
The cost of the training is expensive and as I live alone and have all my bills to pay for I just have not the funds to get him trained up! Croydon funding would help me out enormously as having my dog alert me of my high and low blood sugars before I get to a point where I cannot sort myself out! It would also give me piece of mind as I worry every night going to sleep on my own.
