Story
Next July I am going on a trip to Malawi with my school, Cardinal Hume Catholic School. The teacher organising the event has already raised £11,000 towards the build of a girls dormitory. The money I am trying to raise is so I can go on the trip.
The dormitory is for girls my age and younger who have to walk 7 miles to school everyday. Whilst in Malawi I will help decorate and prepare the dormitory for the girls to stay in. As well as this I will get the opportunity to meet some of the girls that will benefit from the dormitory as the build will be completely finished by the time we leave.
The chance of rape and assault is high in this area meaning the girls can be left emotionally and physically damaged as well as this they may not be able to continue their education as they now have a child to look after. However if the girls can stay at the school during the week their chance of danger is lowered meaning they have a better chance of finishing their education.
The reason I want to go on this trip is because I want to help make the world a more equal place in which everyone should have the best opportunity to finish their education and progress as far as possible in life. The trip allows me to go out and reinforce my views instead of just expressing them. Therefore any donation would be very much appreciated.
