Story

Holly is a 14 year old Down syndrome swimmer who has recently been selected for the Great Britain Down Syndrome team to swim in the world championships in Canada in July. We are looking to raise money to help fund this trip for Holly and one carer.

Holly is an exceptionally talented swimmer who started mainstream learn to swim lessons at the age of 4 at the Swindon Oasis. She has progressed into a mainstream Swimming club, Swindon ASC where she trains 3 times a week. Holly also trains and competes for Reading Cygnets, a swimming club for athletes with learning disabilities.

Holly has already swam for Great Britain once before in November 2017 aged just 13 when she attended the European championship staged in Paris and she was lucky enough to be selected for the 200m freestyle, 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle relay team where she won a Gold and two Silver medals.

We hope that through competitive swimming and through representing her country Holly can achieve her maximum potential and go on to become a role model and positive example for other children with Learning disabilities.

Any contribution you make will go to support Holly in her quest to attend the Down Syndrome World swimming Championships in Canada in July 2018. If we are lucky enough to have any money left over we will donate it to the Down Syndrome Swimming GB team to benefit all of the swimmers in the team.
