I've raised £500 to help fund my trip to Fiji in October, where I will be helping to grow sports provisions and coach kids as part of the Think Pacific Charity.

Over the course of August I will be running 250km, which equates to 8km a day! This is in aid of my month long expedition to Fiji, where I will be joining forces with the Think Pacific charity to develop and support the sports and education provision available to the young children on the Island of Beqa.
Any support (or money) that you can provide will be greatly appreciated, not only by myself but more importantly the rural communities in Fiji that this amazing charity aims to help.
Think Pacific is a charity unique to the Islands of Fiji. A destination more synonymous with paradise than poverty, the harsh truth is that in the rural villages, over 75% of families live below the poverty line and only 50% of the rural population have access to safe drinking water and sanitation. Schools are in a poor condition and devoid of basic materials and many children drop out of education early. Less than 5% of children in rural areas have access to organised youth schemes, sport and extra-curricular activities are limited to non-existent. In February 2016 Fiji witnessed it's worst cyclone ever recorded. Over 400 schools were damaged, 50,000 families displaced and entire communities destroyed. Fiji could take a generation to recover and children are in dire need of long term support.
This is where I and Think Pacific come in: over the course of a months expedition to a rural Fijian Island I will assist with the regeneration and development of a small part of this amazing country. My personal contribution will be in the education and sports provision to the children on the Island of Beqa. Having studied and been passionate about sport my entire life, I only feel it is right that those less fortunate than myself should have the opportunity to experience the pure joy that sport can bring to lives.
