Story
Holly is our beautiful rescue dog who we adopted in September 2020
She came to us with an existing leg injury sustained before travel to England from the streets of Romania and had surgery to fix a Grade 3 luxated patella 7 weeks ago.
Except today (November 23rd) we’ve found out that it hasn’t worked - reasons which we are unsure of at the momentand now needs further, more extensive surgery by a specialist Orthopaedic surgeon to enable her to walk.
The sanctuary we got her from can no longer afford to fund the treatment due to us moving Holly to another vet practice and also their funds are limited due to lockdown. NO insurance policy will cover any costs either due to Holly having had the injury before we got her.
I initially held a couple of raffles through my Facebook and was able to give the sanctuary £550 towards the first £2.5k operation.
However, because Holly now needs further surgery from a specialist surgeon we are looking at a bill of around £3 - £4k for that surgery alone
She can’t have the surgery yet due to complications including infection of the bone meaning the existing pins cannot be removed yet at the risk of fracture. She will be having surgery to remove those pins in a few weeks once the infection has settled and then once the leg is ready, will be referred to an Orthopaedic specialist. (Anyone know Noel the super vet personally?!!!!!)
Hence Justgiving ..... if you or anyone you know would consider contributing we would be so very grateful. I will be trying to raise funds in other ways too but during lockdown its difficult to hold any sort of physical event!
Maybe your workplace would consider donating instead of doing a Secret Santa this year? Or do you donate to somewhere instead of buying (and writing) countless Xmas cards?
If so , can we PLEASE be considered as a worthy recipient? I know its tough for everyone this year (I make Wedding cakes for a living!!! 😳) but even just the price of your Xmas takeaway coffee will make all the difference.
Many thanks for reading - Hollys family xx
