I've raised £10000 to Help keep Home-Start Liverpool open!

I work for the Charity Home-Start Liverpool. My journey began 3 years ago, I decided to volunteer for Home-Start Liverpool. This involved supporting families with a child under the age of 5 years in Liverpool from a variety of different backgrounds. During my time offering support to families I also volunteered in the office carrying out some administration duties. This eventually led to me gaining a part time job here, which I love.
The impact our volunteers and paid workers have on families in need of support is exceptional. Sometimes its the small things in life that make a massive difference, feeling isolated? mental health issues? post natal depression? Just having someone there to talk to, to reassure you, to advise you, to help organise... this is what Home-Start Liverpool is here for.
As well as offering home support to families we also run a free stay and play group on Monday and Wednesday mornings and a free multiple birth stay and play group on Wednesday afternoons. We have a fully stocked play room with plenty for the little ones to do. We offer snack time for the children and also hot drinks and biscuits for parents/carers. These groups are very popular and it brings the community together, the parents and the children.
Home-Start Liverpool has been running since 2001, relying on funding from various funders which we have been lucky enough reach 17 years of supporting families. Unfortunately funding is at a major low and we could possibly face closure in the next couple of months. This will have a major impact on the families involved with Home-Start Liverpool.
Hence why I am trying to raise money on here to see if we can keep supporting families in the future. The population of Liverpool being 489,541 last year - if every person donated as little as 1p this would see Home-Start Liverpool through a good few months giving time to apply for new funding.
The children we support are part of our future, let Home-Start Liverpool make a difference!
