With thousands of people living rough in Sussex each year I am setting up a Non for Profit organisation that will aid in getting people off the street and into paid work. My plan is to employ people that are homeless and have them carry out a variety of paid tasks for clients including painting & decorating, garden maintenance, litter picking and cleaning. The money will be paid daily so they will be able to sleep well at a hostel or hotel as well as eating well. I will then create a training plan for each team member to give them the necessary knowledge and skills to be able to find full time employment and will support and guide them through this process with the dream being that they find a full time residents and a full time job. This organisation is close to my heart as I was homeless for 3 months in my early twenties and although I do not have much, what I do have I will be investing in making the lives of the homeless better and I would really love some support to help me achieve this. The organisation will be solely funded by me raising money and money received from supporters and clients and I really hope people can understand what I am trying to do to better the lives of as many people as I can.
