Weʼre raising £3,000 to enable homeless people to receive housing and support
- Sheffield, UK
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
There is always a reason behind why someone becomes homeless, and there is no simple “one size fits all” solution. Homelessness is a consequence of the person’s inability, for a wide variety of reasons, to obtain or sustain accommodation.
Providing a home to someone is not enough, because the original reasons for becoming homeless will usually lead to a re-occurrence of the homelessness a few months later. Providing housing without support is setting the person up to fail.
To provide one homeless person with an average of 2 hours of personal support per week would require around £1500.00 per year (around £30.00 per week). If that support can be funded, then the homeless person can be provided with the supported accommodation that they so desperately need. This is the most cost effective way to help people move out of homelessness.
Choice Housing Ltd is a regulated not-for-profit organisation that provides accommodation and support to homeless people in Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire. It has provided homes for over 450 people in the past 5 years and continues to help homeless people across the region. The number of people we can take out of homelessness is limited by the amount of support that we can fund, so we are appealing to you to donate to this worthwhile cause, (and also please kindly forward this appeal to all of your social media contacts who care about ending homelessness).
Thank you for your support. If you would like further information about the work we do, please visit our website, Facebook page, and Linked In page.

We are a quarter of the way to our target, so please share the appeal with as many people as possible and post in your social media groups. Every donation matters, and people can donate anonymously if they wish. Thank you.

About the fundraiser
I have been homeless in the past and I understand the problems that can cause homelessness and the support that people often need to break the cycle of repeat homelessness. This is the reason why I feel so passionate about providing supported housing.
