    Story

There is always a reason behind why someone becomes homeless, e.g. Domestic Violence/Abuse, poor mental health, physical illness/disabilities, learning difficulties, multiple debts, drug/alcohol dependencies, offending histories, survivors of sexual abuse.

Simply providing a home (bricks and mortar) to someone is not enough, because the original reasons for becoming homeless will usually lead to a re-occurrence of the homelessness a few months later. This is the cycle of repeat homelessness. Providing housing without individually tailored support is setting the person up to fail. This is why we put so much emphasis on providing support to each and every resident.

Choice Housing Trust is a charitable not-for-profit organisation that provides supported accommodation to homeless people in Sheffield. It has provided homes for over 600 people and continues to help homeless people across the region.

We currently receive no government grants towards this work, so are reliant on individual donations, and trading activities, to fund the support that we provide to residents.

      Update from the Page owner

It has taken a long time to get this far, but we are just 17% short of our target. I want to thank all our wonderful supporters for their generosity and best wishes, and ask that they share this campaign with their online contacts so that we can reach this funding target. Every £ donated is used to help the homeless, and we are making a real and substantial positive difference to people's lives. Thank you Choice Housing Trust

      Update from the Page owner

We are a quarter of the way to our target, so please share the appeal with as many people as possible and post in your social media groups. Every donation matters, and people can donate anonymously if they wish. Thank you.

I am passionate about providing housing and support for the many people who are experiencing homelessness. I have been homeless myself, and I understand the problems that prevent people from breaking out of the cycle of repeat homelessness. Everyone deserves a home.
