Homelessness is a huge problem within Oxford and, with the sharp drop in temperature in recent weeks, we thought it would be nice if we all donated a couple of pounds so that clean, warm winter clothing (particularly gloves, scarves, hats and socks) can be provided to the homeless.

Speaking to a homeless person recently, his remark was that people really underappreciate the difficulty that comes with not always having somewhere to wash your socks, nor necessarily money to replace them with. This, coupled with the social stigma that many homeless people face upon entry into shops, means that often winter clothing is very much needed and rarely obtained.

So if SPC JCR could pull together in the last week of term just to give a little bit, that'd be absolutely fab.
