I've raised £200 to help homeless women get everything they need to have dignity and comfort during their periods.

There are at least 75,000 homeless women right now in the UK. Women without access to basic human necessities, such as a roof over their head, a bed, or a way to keep clean.
For a homeless woman, having their period is a dreaded thing. Without resources such as tampons, pads, safe places to wash their bodies or their clothes, they are forced to resort to desperate measures. If they are lucky, they may have a sock, or a scrap of cloth. Maybe some toilet roll from a public toilet. Or, they may have nothing, leaving them without dignity and at risk of serious health problems such as infections and TSS.
Access to female sanitary products should be a right, not a privilege. That's why in the Eastbourne area I am handing out tampons, sanitary towels, hygiene wipes and clean underwear to women who need them.
I am looking to raise this money to be able to fund this and make these women's lives just a little bit easier. It is intolerable that women should be in a position where they have to choose between eating and taking care of their bodies. The only women's refuge in my area operates just three months out of the year, meaning these women have nowhere to go to get this kind of help outside of this time period.
Today I have spent 5 hours walking up and down my town, talking to these women and handing out products. If you support this cause, I promise to post regular updates, stories if these women are willing to share them, everything I can to show what a difference such a small act of kindness can make.
Please give what you can. Just 75p will buy 14 sanitary towels. £1 will buy 16 tampons, or one pack of wipes. £3 will buy five pairs of underwear. So the cost of your morning coffee could honestly make an entire week better for a woman.
With your kind donations, I will personally be going out onto the streets and handing out 'Period Kits' on Saturdays to homeless women in my local area. These will be ziplock bags made up with enough wipes, underwear and sanitary products to see a woman through her menstruation for a month. I will give these women as many of these kits as I can carry, but I can only do this regularly with your support. Women's periods happen every month and therefore this is an ongoing need. £200 would easily fund me enough to do this for 3 months.
Thank you.
