Story

We (the Hoodeners, of St Nicholas-at-Wade with Sarre: see https://hoodening.org.uk ) have raised money each year since 1966 for deserving local causes. This year we're collecting for SERV Kent, the "Service by Emergency Response Volunteers" also known as the Blood-Runners. They are a registered charity (RCN 1195148: see https://servkent.co.uk/ ) but we set up this page as JustGiving's paperwork was taking time and we want to collect during our usual season, i.e. the week before Christmas. All money donated here (and all cash put into Dobbin's nosebag at the performances) will be sent to SERV Kent.

Theirs is a completely voluntary service - no state support, and volunteers even pay for their own petrol etc. - but they need funds to cover wear & tear on the vehicles, insurance, and so on. We're hoping to raise £2000, enough to cover the costs of two motorbikes for the next year. If you've any queries about the use of funds, please do ask SERV directly; for our Hoodening performances, check our own website and socials.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, swift and secure; they won't spam you or sell on your details.
