Hey! We are Hoop Focus, and we are trying to make a change in our community through the sport of basketball🏀. I will be running in the ASICS London 10k on July 9th to raise money for my business, Hoop focus.

Growing up in Hainault, I found a love for basketball in my early life due to my family playing the sport and taking me to parks on weekends/breaks etc to play. This led me to joining London Spartans in the National league. Unfortunately, due to financial reasons, I was never able to play a game, which I grew up to realise, is probably the story for a lot of children today. Despite that, I was still keen to play and develop my skills, which I did which landed me in playing for Roehampton University where I got to hone in on my skills with the help of a great coach and team. Once I returned home from university, I found that it was hard to find scrimmages happening in the local area, basketball facilities was sparse, there was a lack of basketball lessons in schools and many children had resulted to going to the park only in the warmer weather months, which is still the case now.

We here at Hoop Focus, want to create more opportunities for all children who have a love for basketball to be able to play for Free. No matter your financial situation, background or ability, everyone should have the chance to do something they enjoy and grow. Not only do we want to improve kids’ basketball skills, but we also want to create an environment for learning, growth, and achievement; we want to create a family.

With this funding, we will be able to put on our sessions for the children for Free, book a months’ worth of sessions, purchase equipment/kit and more that will help them develop as players and as individuals as they go on into their adult lives. We have hopes in the future to create a Men’s, Women's and Kid's teams that can go on to compete in national and smaller leagues. Whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated and we hope you will join us on this journey.
