Hi everyone,

We're raising money for our beautiful daughter, Hooriya, who is unfortunately blind from birth and also severely delayed in her development. This essentially means that she cannot walk, talk (apart from mumbled words here and there), and is not physically able to take care of herself.

We understand that £20,000 is a huge amount of money, and we wish we could raise all of the money ourselves, but we are turning to you guys for help. This £20,000 is part of a £30,000 project (we have raised £5000 and managed to obtain a grant for another £5000), so it's the remaining funds that we require.

This project involves the build of an extension on the ground floor of our house to create a bedroom and an en-suite specifically for Hooriya. Her bedroom and the bathroom is upstairs at the moment, so it's a massive daily struggle for Hooriya and both of us parents to lift her up and down those stairs (you can imagine an 11 year old doesn't co-operate at the best of times, so this is most definitely a battle). The creation of this bedroom and en-suite will result in Hooriya having her own personal space, and most importantly, it will eliminate the daily discomfort that she has when she has to be carried up the stairs by 2 people to get her to the bedroom and the bathroom. The new bedroom and en-suite will be fitted with a ceiling hoist, so it will make things so much easier for getting Hooriya into bed or into the bath.

We will keep you updated with the pictures of the build as it progresses. Work has commenced already, so we really really really need your donations as soon as possible. Your generous donations will make the life of this beautiful girl so much better. Any additional funds that we receive will be put towards treatments for Hooriya, such as the private physio she receives to help her to walk.
